Janus

We can see that the ancients were intuitively aware that the Principle of Unity is the universal generating power from Janus, one of the oldest gods in the Roman pantheon, and a two-faced god appeared repeatedly in Babylonian art. As the god of beginnings, Janus has given his name to January, at the beginning of the year.

jñāna

Inner knowing of the Divine, as Gnosis, with the same root.

Jñāna-yoga

Jñāna-yoga is the path of abstract knowledge in Advaita, complementary to Integral Relational Logic, which takes the abstractions of mathematics, computer science, and information systems modelling methods in business to the utmost level of generality.

Jñānin

One who realizes union with the Divine in Nonduality by means of logic and discrimination, practicing jñāna-yoga.

Jonah Syndrome

Hierarchy of needsAbraham Maslow introduced the term Jonah Syndrome, at the suggestion of Frank E. Manuel, in 1968 in the journal Religious Humanism, changed to Jonah Complex in his posthumously published book Farther Reaches of Human Nature, in the chapter on ‘Neurosis as a Failure of Personal Growth’.
