theology

In Panosophy, theology is the study of God, as the Totality of Existence. When the concepts of God and Universe are unified in Satchitānanda, Theology becomes synonymous with Cosmology, the study of the Universe as an ordered whole. In indivisible Wholeness, there is thus no need to distinguish theology from science, philosophy, or any of the other humanities.

All branches of learning thus converge in Samādhi and Prajñā, the final two stages in the Buddhist Trishiksha, stages 6–8 and 1–2 in the Eightfold path, respectively, as the final truth in the Four noble truths, leading to the cessation of suffering in Gnosis.

Etymology

Before 1376, teologye ‘the science of religion, study of God and his relationship to humanity’, from Old French theologie ‘philosophical study of Christian doctrine; Scripture’, from Latin theologia, from Greek theologia ‘an account of the gods’, from theologos ‘one discoursing on the gods’, from theos ‘god’, from PIE base *dhes-, and -logos ‘treating of’, from PIE base *leg-.
